People helping people: Dagrin Corporation and Stuart & Friends

Stuart & Friends is a charity that runs on three words: Menschen helfen Menschen. People helping people. Stuart Truppner, a former NBA pro, has been living by them since 1994, and he pays for it himself. The initiative does not take donations. There is no gala and no appeal letter. There is a man who decided what his money was for, and a circle of friends who turn up when he calls.
What that looks like on the ground is refreshingly direct: a brand-new vehicle gifted to Lebenshilfe Main-Taunus, support for the food banks in Frankfurt and Hattersheim-Hofheim, and work against discrimination alongside the Bildungsstätte Anne Frank. The SKYLINERS have been partners since 2017, and that partnership grows again with the 2026/27 season.
Why this one matters to us
John W. Dagrin met a lot of people on the way up. Very few of them were doing something this simple for this long. Stuart stood behind John ‘The Dog’ as a sponsor, and John made short films calling on people to get involved, which the Wiesbadener Kurier picked up.
Today the relationship runs in both directions. Stuart & Friends is also a client of Dagrin Corporation, and John works with Stuart in private consultation on the goals and missions behind the initiative. What gets said in those conversations stays in those conversations. In practice it means a second pair of eyes, a sounding board, and someone who will tell you when the plan needs another round.
Same corner, different ring
Boxing teaches you that nobody gets to the final bell alone. Somebody is holding the bucket, somebody is reading the fight, and somebody tells you the truth between rounds. That is the job John has taken on here, gladly, for someone who has spent three decades doing it for strangers.
Stuart has plenty more on his list. We intend to be there for it.
